Kurt Momberger, RYT, Studio Director
I began my practice over seven years ago when I was working as a
Certified Emergency Paramedic. Due to the taxing nature of my work, and a
doctor’s diagnosis of high blood pressure and a professional
recommendation to begin medication protocols at the ripe age of 27, I
took the advice of a colleague and started my study of yoga. She took me
to a yoga class in Phoenix, within 4 months of time my hypertension had
improved dramatically. I am a great believer in the power of yoga and
meditation as a subsequent result of my experience, as well as the
impact that it has had on so many wonderful people that I have met as I
walk my path.
I received my teacher training/ certification from the Providence
Institute here in Tucson. I have studied many traditions and styles of
yoga including Iyengar, Anusara, and Kundalini and I proudly integrate
all of these influences into my classes. I am currently a student of the
Sanskrit language and enjoy my continued study of the Yoga Sutras.
My personal interests are literature, guitars, motorcycles, the
Phoenix Suns, and spending as much time as possible with family and
friends. I enjoy working with all levels of students, from beginners to
veterans. I pride myself on the idea that my classes can be both
challenging and fun.
Welcome to the website, and we hope to see you in the studio! The studio number is 520.731.0702 if you have any questions. For more specific inquires and further information of any kind please contact my self, Kurt Momberger, at 520.396.0619. Namaste.
Lindsay Kreykes, MS, RYT
I have been practicing yoga for over 6 years and received my 250-hour yoga teacher certification from the Providence Institute in Tucson. I am certified with Yoga Alliance at the 200 hour level. My continued education has included 100 hours of Functional Yoga Therapy, an Ayurveda Intensive with Dr. Vasant Lad, and 88 hours of Svastha Yoga Therapy.
I began practicing as a graduate student at the University of Iowa to relieve stress and recover from a kickboxing-induced knee injury. With a background in microbiology and a graduate degree in public health, I have spent several years in medical and public health research. After seeing all the dollars thrown into treatment for preventable diseases, I decided to take a different approach. While still working in medical research and attending culinary school, I now utilizes tools from the Yoga Sutras to help others foster healthier lifestyles. I enjoy teaching all levels of yoga from beginners to vinyasa and power classes to senior yoga.
Claudia Russell, RYT
Back in 1986, while still living in Germany, I was fortunate enough to receive the gift of Yoga through a devotee of Paramahansa Yogananda. Yoga has been a lifestyle choice, my guiding North Star and a permanent source of personal growth and inspiration ever since. Developing a daily yoga practice came to me easily and it was only natural to share this “love of my life” by becoming a certified Yoga teacher. In 1998 I was introduced to Swami Satchidananda and Integral Yoga. I instantly knew that I had found my Yoga tradition. A week later I was on my way to the Integral Yoga Ashram in Buckingham, Virginia. Over the next two years I certified as a basic, intermediate and advanced Integral Yoga teacher, receiving training in the US as well as in India. Being deeply committed to the sequence of Integral Yoga, I also developed my own teaching style by incorporating Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Yin and Therapeutic Yoga into the posture part of my classes.
I am very passionate about yoga and have a deep desire to ignite this same flame within my yoga students. I like to challenge my students to grow, while at the same time inviting them to have fun, to relax and to allow the process to unfold. We can nurture a healthy body, a peaceful mind and a strong spirit while at the same time slowing down a bit and taking it easy. Each posture begins with a smile on the face! Throughout my life, I have been involved in sports and knew it was important to stretch, but when I moved to Tucson in the summer of 2007 and was introduced to the Yoga House at Civano, I really began to appreciate how to stretch properly. After taking my first Active Isolated Stretching class, I remarked, “That’s how my body is supposed to feel!” I rarely missed an AIS class after that.
A year later, I began teaching the AIS classes at the Yoga House after being trained by Monica Eng, who trained with Aaron Mattes (the educator who developed this breakthrough method of stretching). An eager learner, I continue to educate myself about the nuances of Active Isolated Stretching with Mattes’ and Jim and Phil Wharton’s books.
Helping people to be more flexible and stronger gives me joy and great satisfaction. Like a personal trainer, I coach students to do Active Isolated Stretching to the best of their abilities. It’s encouraging to see them being able to stretch farther and develop their muscles, being elated at their progress.
Summer Robertson
I have been practicing yoga for a little over three years. Yoga has helped me find a much needed balance in my life. I have developed a sense of inner-peace and well-being through my practice. For the past three years I have worked as an elementary school teacher teaching kindergarten and second grade. During this time I observed students facing challenges and trying to overcome the stress and anxiety in their everyday lives. I felt I was constantly searching for a way to help them relax and have fun at school. Finally, I found a way! I was fortunate enough to attend the Rainbow Kids Yoga training. Rainbow Kids Yoga is a wonderful program based out of San Francisco. There I learned how to create fun yoga classes for kids. These classes promote self-esteem, confidence, concentration, and mental and physical wellness. Children are able to develop important skills in a non-competitive environment. I am currently teaching at Yoga House at Civano, Tully Elementary School Yoga Club and will be teaching Kind Kids Yoga at Academy Del Sol this summer.
In my classes students will have the opportunity to participate in the following and more:
- Yoga Poses
- Breathing Exercises
- Games
- Partner Sequences and Poses
- Obstacle Course
- Sun Salutations
- Yoga Songs
- Creating Mandalas
- Dancing
I am very excited to teach Children's Yoga at Yoga House!

My journey to becoming a yoga teacher did not follow the straightest of paths. I first encountered yoga, as a child, with Lilias on our public television station. On my journey to yoga I studied several martial arts, such as Hapkido and Aikido, did research in exercise physiology for people and horses, and became a statistician. When I encountered health problems in the mid-90s, I found my way back to yoga and knew that my seeking had both ended and just begun.
I have been blessed with many wonderful yoga teachers prior to my move to Tucson from central Iowa. It was June 2005 when I was moved to pursue Yoga Teacher Training through the Providence Institute here in Tucson. This training proved to be the perfect complement to my prior experiences, and continues to help me delve ever deeper into the eight-limbs of yoga. My classes emphasize breath with movement and asana as I try to help each student to find his or her own yoga within the community of the yoga class. Through my practice of teaching, I share my learning with great gratitude to all of my teachers.
Lois Graham, RYT
I discovered and began my yoga practice long before the availability of Yoga classes; first teaching myself with an old paperback book, and later from Lilias Folan on PBS. Besides my yoga practice and teaching yoga, my life long loves include music, dance, books, dogs and all animals and cookies.
After years of exploration of various yoga styles I came to recognize the transformative and healing aspects of yoga on all levels of the body - physically, mentally emotionally and spiritually. Following the eight -fold paths of Yoga, I guide the student through a class that is contemplative, gentle yet strengthening, and completely breath - focused. Emphasizing the individuals needs, I encourage students to move with self awareness, and discovery leading to harmony, comfort and joy in the body, mind and spirit. I completed the 250 hour yoga teacher training program at Providence Institute. I also received additional training for teaching prenatal yoga and love working with these students as they prepare for birth.
Ingrid Anderson, MS, RYT
My classes emphasize the joy of connecting to breath in
every movement, a building of strength and confidence in the body and
connecting to the true self. At the heart of my teaching, I remember
that I am teaching people, not asana. I continue to learn and grow with
my students and in my own practice. I truly enjoy the connection with so
many great people as we travel this path of yoga and I offer all that I
know in honor and gratefulness to all my awesome teachers.
I am grateful to all my teachers and for the teacher
training I completed in 1999 at the Yoga Connection with Priscilla
Potter in the Kriya Yoga tradition. I continue my study of yoga with
many great teachers, including Rama Jyoti Vernon who has helped me
understand the perfection of the unity of all beings and unity of self
with God.
In 2004, I completed a 200-hour Pilates Mat Teacher
training with Debbie Rocha and Nancy Woods. The Pilates training has
given me a greater awareness of body movement, and of core stability for
increasing the long-term health of the back. My Pilates mat classes
often include appropriate yoga postures (asanas) and stretches.
